BOTTA is really a separate addition with no direct links between WOR 1st, so why not play it with WOR 2nd. What I do is when there is a siege of the two maps, I just sit over at the BOTTA game board and commence with the seige's. Of course, you have to use your common sense because you will overstep into the WOR games with units, meaning some
Ian Madsen. @Arcadious. The 3-4 player game involves team play. Players win as a team, but there are rules for determining an individual winner inside the winning team. The rules for 3-4 players still balances well, but the game does take longer as actions have to be used inefficiently.
My ultimate War of the Ring pc game would be modeled after the old Middle Earth game from SPI. You would have a grand strategy turn based game for the military elements while simultaneously there would be a turn based RPG character driven game for the Fellowship quest. A dream never to see the light of day, I know, but a nice dream never the less. The client is only for the 2nd Edition Jerry (there were older 1st Edition versions but they're quite old now, everyone I know moved to the 2nd Ed clients years ago). The latest "Fangorn" version is 2nd Edition, with Lords of Middle-earth as an optional add-on within the game, and there is a different client that also includes the Warriors of To me it should have been part of base game. Warriors and anything else (so far) are debatable, but Lords not only complement the base game, it improves very well and different from "cosmetical" stuff or Warrior of M.E., I usually take much (maybe 80%) of the Lords of M.E. content in every game. Elrond, Galadriel, Gandalf and all Shadow units
All of that said, two of your concerns are real. One, War of the Ring is at its best as a 2-player game. I would not play it 3-player. Second, the rules are detailed and complex. Every time I pick it up after a few months away, I have to refer to the rulebook a few times.

Barry Miller. In the files section is at least one. Yeah, as Aron said, there are a few different products in the files section which list and help to identify all the locations.
